316L Stainless Steel Angle Steel
Heat Resistance
316L stainless steel angle steel provides good oxidation resistance for intermittent use below 1600°F and continuous use below 1700°F. It should not be used continuously between 800°F and 1575°F. Outside this range, it maintains good heat resistance. Unlike 316 stainless steel, 316L has better resistance to carbide precipitation, making it suitable for these temperatures.
Welding Performance
316L stainless steel angle steel exhibits excellent welding performance with all standard methods. Filler rods of 316Cb, 316L, or 309Cb can be used based on the application. Post-weld annealing is not required for 316L, unlike 316 stainless steel, which needs annealing for optimal corrosion resistance.
Typical Applications
316L stainless steel angle steel is commonly used in:
Pulp and paper equipment
Heat exchangers
Dyeing equipment
Film processing equipment
Pipelines
Coastal building exteriors
High-quality watch bracelets and cases
Heat Treatment
Solution annealing for 316L stainless steel angle steel is done between 1010°F and 1150°F, followed by rapid cooling. It cannot be hardened by overheating.
